African Zulu Basket Lidded Palm Basket

This​ ​traditional,​ ​lidded​ ​basket​ ​is​ ​woven​ ​in​ ​South​ ​Africa​ ​out​ ​of​ ​ilala​ ​palm​ ​and​ ​wild​ ​grasses.​ ​They​ ​are​ ​traditionally​ ​used​ ​to​ ​store​ ​home-brewed​ ​beer​ ​and​ ​liquids.​ ​​ ​It​ ​is​ ​naturally​ ​dyed​ ​using​ ​mud,​ ​leaves,​ ​ash,​ ​and​ ​plants.​ ​Each​ ​basket​ ​is​ ​one-of-a-kind​ ​and​ ​each​ ​one​ ​tells​ ​a​ ​story​ ​through​ ​its​ ​pattern.​ ​​ ​
